Services

With more than a decade in the sciences, and half of that specifically in medical communications, I am happy to provide help with any communication project that you are working on. Here is a list of a few of the services that I can provide. Please inquire if you have any questions or want to discuss other projects that you are working on.

Before starting any project I require that we discuss the project by phone so that I have an understanding of the scope and priorities. All projects are different, thus, all costs are different. Let’s chat about what you need and what I can provide.

Resumes: In order to get you foot into the communications door you need an effective and appropriate resume. I will review your resume and/or your CV and make recommendations on how to streamline it and make it compelling to a hiring manager in medical communications. I have helped recent PhD graduates as well and seasoned medical communications veterans revise their resumes for successful employment.

Abstracts: These little document appear simple, but can be a bugger. I will review the proposed abstract for content, flow, and appropriateness to the defined meeting/congress and audience, while ensuring that it meets the meeting/congress submission guidelines.

Slide or Poster Presentations: Visual presentation of data can be a very effective way to communicate with a broad audience. I will review slide presentations for content, flow, and overall visual appearance and appeal. I will recommend color schemes and font types that appeal to your target audience, and I will assess the types of charts and graphs chosen for data presentation.

Manuscripts: Manuscripts need to both convey information accurately and succinctly, but also to tell a good story to keep the reader engaged. I will review for applicability of content to the overall concept and design, flow of the manuscript from Introduction through Discussion for optimum readability, and tables and figures for appropriately conveying data and themes.

Monographs and Supplements: These are generally a compilation of 3-5 papers designed to be a stand-alone enduring document that healthcare providers and managed care professionals can use as a resource for clinical decision making. Similar to a manuscript review, I will apply the same level of scrutiny to all papers contained within the monograph or supplement for optimum flow and presentation of the data.

Book Chapters: While not as common as abstract, slides, posters, and manuscripts, book chapters serve a broad purpose in medical communication and education. These are often broad reviews of a therapeutic topic area or treatment regimen and require an in-depth knowledge of the scientific and medical information that needs to be communicated to an appropriate audience. While generally longer than a monograph or supplement, I will apply the same attention to detail as I do in all critical reviews.

There are several other type of medical communication that I can help develop in the best possible product for you client or academic institution.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments.

Thanks,

Carl
